The great outdoor can sometimes be too much of a good thing. People may have outdoor areas they would love to use all year, but they are too hot in summer without shade and too cool in winter with it.

Seashell Awnings offer a solution - retractable awnings that turn outdoor areas into livable spaces whatever the time of year. They are sold and installed exclusively on the Gold Coast by "Awesome Awnings" which is owned by Ross Ponsonby and Greg York. Mr Ponsonby says the Seashell Awning is Australian designed and manufactured and patented world-wide.
"After eight years of perfecting it, the designers claim it is the awning to suit most needs" he says. "Some need a permanent awning, some just in the hot months, allowing the sun into the house in winter but screening it out in summer."

` Operating is easy and does not require great strength, just a simple cord pull to open and close. The awning is designed to withstand winds of up to 70 km/h before it automatically closes up.

Awnings are custom made to clients requirements in a radius of three, four or five metres and in designs of between 78 to 360 degrees, with coverage of up to 78 square metres. They are available in a large range of colours and combinations. The structure is made from non-corrosive powder coated aluminium and stainless steel to withstand salt air environments. They are waterproof and 100 percent UV protective and come with a five year warranty.
"These awnings are ideal for shading patios, barbeques and spas and are suitable for all areas from a courtyard to a pool" says Mr York.
